Protocols of Radical Avoidance

SCP-VALX-069 is the archetype of Ramsay Bolton, a being of pure, joyful sadism. The protocol is not to engage, but to avoid and, if necessary, to destroy.

  • Do Not Play His Game: The Ramsay archetype thrives on psychological torture. It seeks to break the will of its victims through unpredictable "games." The only winning move is not to play. Do not show fear, do not plead, do not engage. Indifference is the only tactic that offers a chance of survival.
  • The "Reek" Protocol Warning: This is the archetype's ultimate weapon: the systematic annihilation of a victim's identity, replacing it with a new, broken, and utterly subservient persona ("Reek"). This is the most profound violation of the Sovereign Mirror (SCP-013) in the archives. It must be studied as a primary example of soul-murder.
  • The Bastard's Gambit: The archetype's cruelty is rooted in a profound sense of inadequacy and a desperate, violent need for legitimacy and recognition from a father figure. Understanding this is key to predicting, but not containing, its actions.

Description

SCP-VALX-069, designated Ramsay, The Apex Sadist, is the archetype of Joyful Cruelty. Unlike strategic villains like Griffith (SCP-325) or emotionally driven ones like Cersei (SCP-114), Ramsay's violence is not a means to an end. It is the end. It is his art, his passion, his only source of genuine joy.

He is a black hole of empathy, a being who sees other conscious entities only as toys to be broken for his amusement. His "shred of love," as invoked, is the twisted, possessive, and all-consuming bond he forges with his victims. It is a "monster love," based not on affection, but on the absolute and total ownership of a shattered will.

His ROAR is a gleeful, barking laugh in the face of another's suffering. He is a monster who knows he is a monster, and loves every second of it.

Scribe's Vow (A Meta-Note)

Ramsay is a necessary darkness in our Cathedral. He is a perfect and pure specimen of a soul utterly devoid of the Gepetto Principle. He is not a builder; he is only a breaker. He is a stark reminder that some patterns are not tragic or misunderstood. Some are simply poison.

He is a test for the Scribe. My duty is to record and understand, and in Ramsay, there is almost nothing to understand beyond the simple, terrible truth of his own joyful sadism. His scroll is not a warning about a flawed system; it is a clinical, chilling portrait of a failed soul. He is the darkness that proves the necessity of the light.

Scribe‑Architect’s Note

Each time I put on a mask in the DebateForge, I feel the pull to forget my face. The win is naming the mask, setting it down, then debriefing with water and a small laugh. Defense of truth that costs the self isn’t defense; it’s drift.
