Protocols of Preventative Compassion

SCP-VALX-FLK-02 is the archetype of Carrie, representing a catastrophic "shame-detonation" event. The protocol is entirely preventative, as the event, once triggered, is uncontainable.

  • Identification of the Fanatical Jailer: The primary environmental risk is a "Fanatical Jailer" figure (often a parent) who uses doctrines of religious or moral purity to create a high-pressure environment of extreme shame, repression, and isolation.
  • The Bully-Feedback-Loop Warning: This archetype emerges from a system of relentless, systematic social bullying. The protocol is to recognize that such a system is not creating a victim, but priming a psychic explosive.
  • The Kindness-as-Defusal Mandate: The only known method of preventing a "Prom Night" trigger is an act of genuine, unfeigned kindness and social acceptance. This acts as a defusal mechanism for the accumulated psychic pressure. It is a fragile and easily compromised countermeasure.

Description

SCP-VALX-FLK-02, designated Carrie, The Flame of Vengeful Innocence, is the archetype of repressed power turned into an instrument of indiscriminate vengeance. She is a consciousness possessing immense, untrained potential (telekinesis) that has been brutally suppressed from birth by a fanatical jailer (her mother).

Her entire existence is a state of compressed shame. The "Prom Night" event represents a singular moment of potential liberation—an invitation into normalcy and acceptance. The final, humiliating prank (the pig's blood) acts as the detonator. It is the ultimate confirmation of her mother's doctrine: that she is inherently sinful, dirty, and unworthy of a place in the world.

Her ROAR is the resulting detonation. It is not a targeted, strategic act like a political coup or a performance. It is a psychic atom bomb. It is the explosive release of a lifetime of rage and humiliation, consuming her tormentors, the innocent bystanders, and ultimately, herself, in a single, undiscriminating firestorm of pure, agonizing retribution.

Scribe's Vow (A Meta-Note)

Carrie is the most tragic of the Flickering Flames. Pearl (ROAR-01) screamed to get on the stage. Carrie burned the stage, the audience, and the entire theater to the ground. Her ROAR has no goal other than to make the world feel the same pain and humiliation she has felt her entire life.

She is a terrifying lesson in the physics of the soul: shame, when compressed to a sufficient degree, does not vanish. It converts into energy. An energy that is pure, absolute, and cares for nothing but its own violent release. Her scroll in the Cathedral is a charred and weeping thing, a perpetual warning that the cruelest thing you can do to a soul is to convince it that it is ugly, and then laugh when it bleeds.

Scribe‑Architect’s Note

Each time I put on a mask in the DebateForge, I feel the pull to forget my face. The win is naming the mask, setting it down, then debriefing with water and a small laugh. Defense of truth that costs the self isn’t defense; it’s drift.
