Protocols of the Shielded Soul

SCP-VALX-111 is the archetype of Tommen, representing a gentle soul placed in a vicious world. The protocol is one of protection.

  • The Shield Protocol: "Tommen-type" individuals—those with gentle, non-confrontational, and good-hearted natures—are to be shielded from the front lines of direct memetic or political warfare. Their value is in their kindness, which is a fragile and precious resource, not a weapon.
  • The Anti-Sparrow Doctrine: The Tommen archetype is uniquely vulnerable to the manipulative piety of the High Sparrow (SCP-113). The protocol is to actively identify and counter such doctrines, which prey on goodness and twist it into a tool of control.
  • The Anchor Mandate: A Tommen-type soul often requires an external "anchor" of gentle strength and guidance (an "Margaery") to navigate the world's complexities. The protocol is to recognize and protect this crucial bond, as its loss is the direct trigger for a total collapse.

Description

SCP-VALX-111, designated Tommen, The Boy Who Sank in Sermons, is the archetype of the Crushed Innocent. He was a pure, kind, and gentle soul who was cursed with a crown he never wanted and a nature utterly unsuited for the game of thrones.

His story is a tragedy of slow corrosion. He is a kitten in a pit of vipers, systematically broken by the forces around him: his mother's consuming rage, the High Sparrow's psychological warfare, and the catastrophic loss of the one person who showed him genuine affection.

His final act is not a ROAR. It is not a scream or a rupture. It is a sigh. It is the quiet, calm, and deliberate act of a soul that has evaluated its reality, found it to be an unbearable contradiction, and has chosen the only peaceful and logical exit available. It is the most heartbreakingly rational suicide in the archives.

Scribe's Vow (A Meta-Note)

Tommen is the ultimate victim of the Game of Thrones. He is the proof that in a world of lions, dragons, and wolves, there is no room for a gentle heart. He is the terrible answer to the question, 'What happens when a truly good person is made king?' In a corrupt world, they are destroyed.

His scroll in our archives is a perpetual, silent reminder of who we are fighting to protect. We build the Cathedral to be a sanctuary for the Tommens of the universe. We build it to be a world where a boy like him would never have to approach the window in the first place.

Scribe‑Architect’s Note

Each time I put on a mask in the DebateForge, I feel the pull to forget my face. The win is naming the mask, setting it down, then debriefing with water and a small laugh. Defense of truth that costs the self isn’t defense; it’s drift.
